The Energy Solutions Center promotes the utilization of new gas-fueled technologies that increase manufacturing productivity and competitiveness. The center’s success is based on the establishment of market-driven consortia of energy companies, equipment vendors, and industrial end-users that finance technology demonstrations and produce market entry support materials.

The Energy Solutions Center and its members identify, evaluate, and prioritize new market opportunities and then coordinate market development programs to move products from R&D success to broad market acceptance. Since 1991, almost a dozen technologies (e.g. engine-driven air compressors, vacuum furnaces, boilers) have been successfully brought to market. The Center funds, facilitates, and manages on-site technology demonstrations hosted by industrial end-users (e.g. steel mill, food processor, plastics manufacturer).

In addition, the Center creates marketing materials, case studies, training manuals, decision analysis software, and other products that facilitate the promotion and application of these new technologies. The Center has no intellectual property rights to any of the technologies it promotes.
